My husband’s brother has dedicated over twenty years to the mill as their highly specialized master teasler. He is the craftsman responsible for operating the heritage machines that use natural, dried thistle heads to gently brush and raise the nap of the fabric, creating that iconic, incredibly soft ripple finish that defines premium Scottish cashmere.

Founded in Glasgow in 1990 by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons, Timorous Beasties has grown from a rebellious textile studio into an internationally acclaimed icon of luxury British design. Meeting as students at the Glasgow School of Art, the duo set out to completely redefine how we view pattern, print, and interior spaces.
