UK Hallmarking Legislation

In the UK, it is a legal requirement under the Hallmarking Act 1973 to hallmark all items sold as precious metals (Gold, Silver, Platinum, or Palladium) if they exceed certain exemption weights.

• Silver: Articles weighing over 7.78 grams
• Gold: Articles weighing over 1.0 gram
• Platinum: Articles weighing over 0.5 grams
• Palladium: Articles weighing over 1.0 gram

All of our precious metal jewellerry items above these legal weights are independently tested and hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office to guarantee their purity and authenticity.
