Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a very special commission: a ring and pendant set from our Fairypools Collection, reimagined for a client who wanted to blend the rugged beauty of the Isle of Skye with the deep, soulful red of the Garnet.
The Inspiration: Skye’s Enchanted Waters
Our Fairypools collection is inspired by the crystal-clear, cascading rock pools of the Scottish Highlands. Usually featuring the cool blues of Topaz, this particular request called for a warmer, more dramatic palette. The client chose Garnet—the birthstone for January—surrounded by the fire of brilliant-cut diamonds, all set in the enduring strength of platinum.
Handcrafted in Platinum
Working in platinum allows for a delicate yet incredibly secure setting. The contrast between the bright, white metal and the rich wine-hued garnets creates a look that is both contemporary and timeless.
To capture the "Highland feeling" of these pieces before they headed to their new home, we photographed them in nature. Seeing the platinum glisten against the deep green needles of a Scottish fir tree perfectly mirrored the organic, flowing lines of the Fairypools design.
