From Canada to Ayr: A Designer’s Hero Pendant
Share
It is always a compliment when someone from the creative world—someone with an eye for balance, texture, and form—seeks out my work.
Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting an interior designer from Canada who was visiting Ayr. She didn't want a mass-produced souvenir; she wanted a one-of-a-kind piece that captured the spirit of her travels and her own design aesthetic. Together, we decided on a bespoke Hero Pendant.
A Fusion of Metal and Light
Because she wanted something truly unique, we pushed the boundaries of the Hero style.Â
The pendant features the signature molten, distressed silver surface, but we elevated it by adding gold to the surface. The way the gold fuses with the silver mimics the play of light on a rugged landscape. To finish the piece, we set it with a Grey Diamond.

Unlike traditional clear diamonds, grey diamonds have a "salt and pepper" soul. They are full of character, inclusions, and depth—perfectly matching the "proudly displayed history" of the Hero collection.
A Wearable Memory
There is something so special about a piece of jewellery created in a specific place at a specific time. Now, back in Canada, she wears a piece of Ayr with her—a rugged, elegant reminder of her journey and the beauty found in the unique and the "imperfect."Â
