a bride and groom in a forest in Scotland, Bride is shocked at her husband's surprise

Unforgettable Wedding Surprises

If there's one attribute that all my customers share, it is that they are extremely thoughtful. I feel very lucky to attract such lovely people. I think it must be the meaning in my designs that resonates with them. I also love hearing their stories and playing a part in the surprises that they organise for the people who are most important to them. I always ask for permission before sharing any stories and if someone wants to keep their commission private, that information is kept confidential, but most of my customers love reading about my commissions and also enjoy spreading happiness by allowing me to share theirs.

Andy and Mhairi commissioned me to make wedding rings for them. A few years earlier, Andy surprised Mhairi with an engagement ring that was engraved inside with coordinates of where they met which was at Glasgow University when they were both doing PhD's in Geography. For their wedding, they got married at the Scottish Dark Skies Observatory in the Galloway Forest. A very unique location for a wedding that created an unforgettable experience for their guests but Andy planned some additional surprises on the day for Mhairi to make it extra special. These amazing photographs of their wedding day were taken by Scottish wedding photographer Kellee Quinn.

I think every bride imagines the moment she sees her husband-to-be at the wedding ceremony and he sees her in her dress for the first time. Mhairi definitely did not picture it as it happened.

Andy had a very unexpected surprise.

Andy played Ludovico Einaudi - I Giorni which is a very emotional contemporary piece of music that is breathtakingly beautiful.

Mhairi wore handmade star earrings, perfect for their Observatory wedding. These are part of my Falling Star collection, made to encourage those who wear them to make wishes as often as they want.

The surprises did not stop at the ceremony.

The location is remote and not straight forward to get to, making it very exclusive so something Mhairi didn't expect was any uninvited guests.

Even though Jessica wasn't on the guest list, Andy managed to secretly smuggle her in. No mean feat for a guest this large!

Jessica is Mhairi's horse and a very important part of her world.

A wedding is a day to share with those you love and having Jessica there was an unexpected treat that shows how much Andy understands what is important to her. What nicer gift could a husband give to his bride on their wedding day than an act that shows he values what she cares about and wants her to be happy.

Making your wedding day unforgettable means having special touches that are unique to you. Moments that leave their impression on your heart forever.

For their wedding rings, Mhairi chose a narrow platinum band that was brush finished and set with four round brilliant cut diamonds to complement her engagement ring. Andy chose to have his platinum wedding ring engraved with a mountain pattern with small stars scattered around the band. This design is part of our Under The Stars collection and it is perfect for a lasting memory of their unforgettable wedding day at the Dark Skies Observatory.
