A Unique Right-Hand Anniversary Ring: Turning Wedding Earrings into Peridot Magic
Share
Celebrating a milestone like a 10th wedding anniversary calls for something truly special. One of our recent clients wanted an eternity ring—but not the traditional diamond band to sit alongside her engagement and wedding rings. She was looking for a piece that was personal, unusual, and meaningful, something to wear on her right hand that could stand alone as a statement of love and memory.
She made an appointment and visited our Ayr studio with her husband and son, making it a small family celebration, bringing with her a pair of pear-cut peridot earrings she had worn on her wedding day. Although she loved these earrings, they had been tucked away in her jewellery box, rarely worn because she felt they were hidden behind her hair and while shopping for an eternity ring, she wanted ideas for how the earrings could be remodelled.Â

She tried on several diamond eternity rings to explore ideas, but it quickly became clear that the new ring should not sit next to her engagement and wedding rings - she loved the pair exactly as they were. This opened the discussion to using her peridot earrings as the inspiration for a bespoke design. The idea of transforming these cherished earrings into a right-hand anniversary ring immediately captured her imagination. It was a way to keep the memories of her wedding day close and to enjoy the gemstones daily, rather than letting them sit forgotten.
Her earrings were pear-shaped peridots, and she discussed setting styles with Christopher and preferred claw settings rather than having the stones rubbed over. She also wanted a thin, delicate band that would feel elegant on her finger without overwhelming her other jewellery. Christopher listened carefully to everything she said and around a week later, sent her a drawing of an idea he thought she would be perfect.

The design featured the pear-cut peridots on either side of a gently waving yellow gold band. One stone points right, the other left, sitting diagonally opposite each other. This arrangement gives the ring a sense of dynamic movement, while the warm yellow gold complements the olive-green of the peridots beautifully.

She loved the design and the ring was then crafted with meticulous care. When she collected the finished piece, she was delighted—a meaningful, wearable heirloom jewellery transformation that brings treasured memories into daily life.

This project is a perfect example of how right-hand anniversary rings don’t have to be traditional diamond bands. They can be entirely personal, creative, and full of significance. Using existing jewellery, like a pair of beloved earrings, is a wonderful way to honour past moments while creating something new and wearable. A ring like this isn’t just an accessory—it’s a story you carry on your hand, a memory made tangible.
