A customer brought in some gemstones that she had bought online and wasn't sure what she'd like to make using them. We looked at a few different options and decided on a ring using seven of the gemstones. When we laid out the gems, we realised that the ring was going to be too large using seven of the stones and so we simplified the design using only four of them. As the ring is still quite large, I suggested that we lower the two middle stones so the ring is more elegant and less like one block of gems on top of a band. The finished ring is stunning and a very unusual combination of colours and cuts.
