This is a necklace from the Bella Figura collection. It is a silver curb chain with 3 ditali beads on it. One bead is 9ct yellow gold, one is silver and one is 9ct rose gold. Each Ditali bead is 6mm by 6mm. It is a handmade bead with diagonal grooves that were cut by hand.
There is a finer version of this necklace with 3 Ditalini beads which are 4mm by 4mm and it is £220
Ditali and ditalini are short tubes of pasta, roughly the same length as they are wide. Their name comes from the word ditale meaning thimbles. They are also called coralli, meaning coral because they look like beads from a necklace. Their shape is so suited to jewellery making that this is one of the shapes of dried pasta often used to make necklaces.
